Miles Russell

(Trumpet, Flugel Horn, Piano, Accordion, Tenor Horn, Vocals, Composition, Arrangements, Toys)


Miles is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and musical director. He trained in performing arts at Middlesex University, and has also trained in clown with Philippe Gaulier in Paris. Performances include West End productions, national and international tours, and various bands and ensembles. He is also pasionate about education.


Tim Wade

(Trombone, Arrangements, Vocals, Toys)


After studying with Phil Wilson at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, and on the postgraduate jazz course at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Tim has become a busy freelance trombonist. His credits include the USA Motown Show, the Lost and Found Orchestra, Kofi Dako in Sa Mon Di, Digby Fairweather, Don Lusher, Bill le Sage, Bobby Wellins, George Russell, the Burt Bacharach tribute The Look of Love Orchestra, Around the Horn: Live and Uncut, Charlotte Glasson's groups Escapade and Festivus, and his own brass section The Horns.


Phil Paton 

(Clarinet, Saxophones, Recorder, Vocals, Toys)


Phil has played in more bands (and most styles of music) than he cares to remember!  He has backed people such as Art Theman/Steve Waterman (jazz), Keith Emerson/Susan Maughan (rock/pop) and Joan Regan (big band swing) plus appeared on prime-time BBC TV as the featured soloist, recorded for local and national radio and performed the length and breadth of England and Wales.  He has had experience in musical theatre using mime and has always been a big fan of bands such as Spike Jones and Bonzo Dog – great musicians and silly music.  The perfect combination.


Steve Dummer

Steve trained first as a clarinetist under the great Jack Brymer at the Guildhall Scool of Music & Drama before going on to train in conducting at the Royal College of Music.  Steve is the director of Talkestra, and conductor of both the Horsham Symphony and the Worthing Philharmonic Orchestras, as well as many other professional and community groups. He plays, teaches, and generally enthuses as much as he can about music anywhere he's asked to go.








Gerry Berkley

Mark Elvin

(Double Bass, Tuba, Vocals, Toys)



Mark is one of London’s busiest freelance musicians. A graduate of the London College of Music, his varied career includes conducting orchestras and choirs, writing and orchestrating music for TV, playing on numerous recordings and performing in many of London’s orchestra pits. Recent credits include six years as the incumbent bass guitarist for Fame in the West End and touring & recording with the Drifters. Until its closure he was the bass player for Priscilla Queen of the Desert at London's Palace Theatre.

James Pusey

(Guitars, Banjo, Sitar, Vocals,  Toys)


James Pusey is a guitarist living in London. As a freelance player he has worked with many artistes including Michael Bolton, Paloma Faith, Beverley Knight, Will Young, Lesley Garret, Andrea Bocelli, Dionne Warwick, Cleveland Watkiss, Aleisha Dixon, Shakin’ Stevens & Tony Christie and on West End productions including Dirty Dancing, Dancing In The Streets, Hairspray, Mamma Mia, Cabaret, Rent, Fame, Spamalot, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Lion King, The Bodyguard and Matilda the Musical.

The ensemble was born in June 2016 when an excellent group of musicians was gathered to perform as the backing band for the Hurtwood House musical theatre showcase. The band had so much fun performing this style of jazz they decided to create an group to continue.
